Enjoy over 900 acreas  of land formerly used for strip mining, and being reclaimed into a beautiful natural wildlife refuge with 15 stocked lakes for fishing, boating (electric trolling motors only please), canoeing and hiking.   The site,  and is opened to the public year-round. Purchased in 1991, it is operated as a part of the Hennepin Canal Parkway State Park.
